Mel,
My X's friends that have visited Maine so many times and will retire there, used to give us so many Maine magazines, about real estate, towns, etc. but We( X and I)would just accept them, scan them ever so briefly and then toss them, cause we never gave it much thought to ever go up there. We did the carribean, Hawaii, Vancover, warm places..LOL>> We also thought of Maine as some desolate place you don't hear much about.
You changed all that. I could picture me driving up to see the foilage, and watching the trawlers come in with their fresh catch. It sounds so idyllic, lovely, and peaceful place to visit.
I have only traveled alone to business meetings, never on vacation. Still working up nerve to go it alone. Also I checked on a couple of websites on Maine, and yikes so many cottages by the ocean are already booked thru February.
You mention you were no longer going to write about Maine. Maybe, you would consider mentioning just a few spots to visit where most people would enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Thanks.
