Ok, first of all, I appreciate everyone's input. It is what I needed to hear.
No, I am not a 18 year old, and I am not irresponsible.
I guess the human instinct to flee from the anguish and struggle got the best of me for a few days, during which I posted this as a thought.
As I read each response, every feeling inside (not of what I wanted to do, but what was needed) was confirmed. Those kids need me to be close.
I am getting to the point where I am almost tempted to leave things the way the are, just because the alternative sounds to damn hard, and I do not seem to have the carcummen to figure it out.
When things do come out to an end, I oughta make sure to perhaps relocate out of the area, but within a few miles, so that I am able to visit often, and be there for my kids.
I am sorry some of you got angry writing a response. It's what I needed to hear. I guess the only consolation I can give you, is the fact that your comments did make a difference in my life.
