Close Friendship VS Relationship

I'm just curious as how you would describe the differences between the two.
[u]Important Friendship VS Common-law Relationship[/u]

Quite often there are major similarities with both, but what do you consider differences.

Here is my starting of it...

Both
1. someone you can talk to and confide in
2.
3.

Relationship
1. sex
2. living together (?)
3. has "duties" around the house and does them without asking (GWIM)
4. helps with the children
5. when not working are with you and the children
6. someone who attends majority of family events with
7. someone you plan on including in events

Friendship
1. helps out when asked, and sometimes when not asked
2. stays out of taking over "parental" responsibilities
3. someone you invite to events

Feel free to elaborate, I'm just tossing ideas out.
