What you can do depends on what you want to have happen. Do you want a divorce, or do you want her to get treatment?

Personally, I would at a minimum file for a legal separation giving you full custody and exclusive use of the home. Her drinking and being in the presence of the kids is unacceptable. Besides being dangerous as hell, the 11yo is old enough to know that mommy is a drunk, and that knowledge can cause long term, *permanent* emotional damage. Even if you still love her enough to have doubts about divorce, your kids well-being needs to take priority. Since mom isn't making it a priority to protect them from the booze, its up to you to do it.

I would file the separation and tell my spouse that when they've successfully completed rehab and have been sober a MINIMUM of 6mos then we could *talk* about reconciliation. If necessary I would participate in counseling if asked by my spouses counselor. You should talk to an atty to discuss your options.
