I just filed for Chapter 7 myself. I was also stuck with community property bills. I filed separately. The creditors DO NOT care who made the bills or who will pay them, as long as they get PAID. I had phone calls day and night from joint creditors. I was the only one with a job. The good part of filing for me is that my credit was destroyed anyway because of my ex not taking responsibilty for half of the debt and now he is ULTIMATELY responsible for ALL not half of the joint debt. Sweet revenge, if you will. Now they can call HIM and I can get on with my life!! So do what is best for YOU!!!
