Gotta be honest, I don't think you're getting the whole story.

Some man rapes his sister and your GF wasn't angry enough to divorce him? That's one of those particular situations where women tend to reaction before responding; if you know what I mean. After all, she was dealing with a "cheating" side plus a "criminally incestious" side to this man. That's usually enough to make a woman scatter with no thought to the children they have together; much less caring what a man like that does to himself. (And, in those particular cases, you can't hardly blame them for the immediate reactions.)

But, even now, she seems to keep dragging things out. There's very little opportunity for him to get custody and I'm sure his visitation will be limited for some time. So exactly what is she afraid of?

You might want to really think this through. Something about this just doesn't set too well. I think she's neglected to tell you some things. And I would want to know EVERYTHING before I married her.
