"Unpleasant reaction" softsoaps those big ole crocodile tears and "I'm gonna puke". It just sounds like she is just trying to ensure that she didn't get in more trouble with you. So sorry you took that as being judgmental.
Kids don't normally try that stuff unless it works. She obviously learned somewhere that she can argue with adults. Ergo my opinion that she was going to get away with it...
But, just ignore that opinion since you didn't ask...
