Heh. I do get grumpy at times -- like around report card time and I have to return 10--30 phone calls from parents who don't understand why little Johnny got a B instead of an A. (AND of course, these are the parents who are too busy to come to parent teacher conferences) Or when parents call up and ask me how come I didn't sit little Janey down and have a heart to heart with her about some misbehavior instead of giving her a detention. (AND these are the parents of kids who act like they don't have to listen or follow a single rule) I could go on........

Burnt out? Nope. I love teaching. I get grumpy when kids' behaviors are such that I can't effectively do a great job for all the other kids who DO follow rules.

EVERY teacher puts up with SO much more than you know. Show me a teacher who doesn't get grumpy from time to time and I'll show you a teacher who should be collecting garbage or counting beans -- not teaching kids.
