If you depend on CS, SS or anything else from your ex, you should insure his/her life with a term policy. Make sure it's big enough to cover your needs. If necessary, disability insurance might also be called for, but this can be prohibitively expensive in many cases. Insurance should be part of the court order and should be in place on the day of divorce.
