You seem to have missed my bottom line and main points. But that's ok.
As a mom of active kids for the past 20 years, I guess I am always in a rush... Showering and Shaving is not a luxury I have time for, it is a hurried thing I must do in order to look good enough to attend the next sporting event.
I am 4 years away (counting down the minutes) before I will enjoy a "Calgon (sp) Moment" Hoping I will not cut myself when shaving then.....

But I must say, If one needs the advise of strangers on the issue of shaving now, there are deeper issues ahead.

But really, the child will let a parent know when they are ready. No need to push the issue because a parent is worried about a little hair. It also seems this issue has been addressed and somewhat resolved. There really is no "magic age" to address personal hygene as most know..
Our job as a parent is to be ready to provide the tools and advise in a positive way as our children enter the tender years of the dreaded "P"
