I don't understand how it ruins marriage, either. AFter all, the basis of marriage is love for each other. It isn't a man and a woman loving each other, IMHO.
You know, I had a friend when I was in elementary that had two moms. I had no idea whatsoever that they were gay...I was 7 when we met, and she moved when I was ten. It bothered me when my kids were well aware what gay was when they were much younger than that.
I am not kidding when I say I was in my twenties before I realized what "having two mom's" meant. By then I knew what gay was, obviously, but it had just never occurred to me that my friend had two moms because they were gay. It probably would have sooner had she not moved and we lost touch. But this was in 79, and they actually got kicked out of their home because their landlord found out they were gay. My dad had concerns, but my mom said they were great people and she didn't care. I was one of the few kids allowed to go to her house and play, other kids parents wouldn't let them.
My mom always points out that I slammed my finger really bad over there once, and one of my friend's moms patched me up and took me home, and then called the next day to see how I was. My mom said anyone who was that concerned was just a mom, not a gay mom, and that if mom came first, that was all she needed to know!
