One of the reasons he finds it so offensive is that he doesn't want his kids to witness homose xual behavior in public and he doesn't want to have to explain it to his kids. I could see how that might make someone squirm a little. I have discussed it with my kids so the do "get it" but he just is completely uncomfortable with the concept.

my friend is fighting that same issue with her husband because her son from first marriage is indeed married to a black woman who has her own set of kids - that new found family is not allowed in my friend's house because of her husband's disgust...as he has stated his beliefs are [censored] and some things just should not be acceptable.

so maybe your man friend's disgust of homesexuality is the same thinking of my friends racism by the looks of it.

both find it offensive.
both think it should not be viewed in public.
and both feel that it should not have a reason to explain to kids...
