Re: Taking children out of state without telling

I am an NCP and no where in any documents does it say that either party MUST provide details regarding out-of-state vacations. Because of a problem years ago when our vacation plans were cancelled due to emergency (the CP was the ONLY one notified of the vacation since it was meant as a surprise for the kids). The CP told the kids about the cancelled vacation and then told the kids I break my promises and I went without them.
Anyway I planned on giving her the information out of curteously AFTER I told the kids about the vacation...which won't be until the week prior.
I am now being told that I MUST provide details, such as lodging, etc., to the CP otherwise I could be charged with kidnapping.
The CP has taken the kids (during my parenting time) on vacations to various states and it has NEVER been an issue. I find out where the kids went AFTER the vacation.
I have been searching for any laws regarding this and I would be interested in finding out what the real law is on this.
As far as I'm concerned, if the NCP is required to provide all details, then the CP should be required to do the same.
BTW: ours is a joint legal custody situation.
If anyone can give specifics regarding laws for parents taking children on an out of state vacation, I'd really appreciate it.
