Not necessarily a concern...
It has been confirmed that I will be taking my children on vacation for 3-4 days in October. The only reason she is aware of this is because it isn't my normal parenting time weekend.
4-5 years ago I had a vacation planned for me and my kids. Again, during HER parenting time. So I called the X, made sure she was okay with it and at that time gave her the details. She was the only one I gave ANY info to at all. The trip was meant as a Christmas gift to the kids.
1 month before leaving I ended up having gallbladder surgery, however they ended up do full open surgery instead of the laser. 2 weeks after the surgery, not only was I not feeling up to such an active vacation, I was also out of work so funds were scarce. I cancelled the trip. Hoped it was a postponement, but we never did take that trip.
Anyway, 2 years later the ex told the kids about this cancelled trip, told them that I always break my promises and then told them that I went without them!
So...I have made arrangements for the vacation and the X was notified as ordered. It will be an active vacation that I think the kids will enjoy. But I don't want to tell them until the week before because I found out the hard way that plans can be cancelled at the last minute. Why dissappoint them needlessly.
So I will give the X the information but I didn't want to provide it too soon.
She is stating I must give it to her immediately and all the info I've found leads me to believe that even though I have documentation that this is agreed upon vacation time for me, she can still charge me with kidnapping.
So I would just like to see the laws about this.
