That played a huge factor in my divorcing my first ex. People don't think it matters but it does. I was married for a lesser time than you and got out but I would say it was the #1 factor. We didn't need the money so she could have done anything. ANYTHING. To get her azz out of the house. Kids were in school, economy was rocking then, I asked her to do anything so she didn't live her life vicariously through me. It also wasn't like a soccer Mom or anything. Even THAT would have been better than doing NOTHING all day. We had a maid doing floors and stuff once a week so her whole day consisted of sleeping, watching TV and ensuring dinner was on the table, during which I was grilled about what happened at work all day. It drove me nuts. She wouldn't eat out (she had a fear of choking) so we never went anywhere. I was a friggin prisoner. Enough was enough. She drove me nuts asking me to repeat "word for word" conversations I had at work and of course, she was on the phone a lot with my secretary (admin) gabbing about what was going on but it was because she was BORED. So I basically left mine too because she wouldn't get a job.
She also (and to this day) has a fear of driving so that didn't help.
