The equity so far is about $12k and I've already paid off about $8-$9k of HIS debt that he accrued prior to marriage and he says that will suffice for him. I really wanted to do a pro se divorce because I honestly can't afford an attorney. I would have to choose between feeding myself and paying for an attorney. You know? I am keeping this house, so I will be struggling for a little bit. And today, I came home from work and he acting like nothing was wrong, like "hi honey, how was your day, what is for dinner, and hey lets have your parents over for dinner this weekend" as if NOTHING has happened lately. Not the screaming matches, the broken items, the "divorce" talks, about him telling me that he is getting his own apartment. It is as if he thinks that we can just "ignore" this period of time and move past it. He doesn't even mention counseling?!?!? If I actually thought that we had a chance of making this work, he would need serious anger management, individual counseling, AND couples counseling for us. However, he sees no need for any of that. He is "fine" and "there is nothing wrong with him". "I need to quit pressing his buttons and quit acting like a slut" is his solution. So, that is why I gave up.....
