Stipulations contrary to state law are VOIDABLE . The age of emancipation in NY is 21 . This is not a deviation .

Many CO's are "grandfathered" in if the "law" changes between the time the CO was ordered and what it currently says.

He has a legal document, signed by a judge that says that CS ends at 18. Only a judge can change that.

Will a judge change it or enforce it. No one knows until it goes back to court.

Because he has a CO clearly stating that CS ends at 18, he would NOT be in contempt for stopping CS at 18.
