Debts

My second wife and I have been married about 6 years. We have no kids at home. I make more than her, but she also makes decent money. She has a nice career and advanced degrees. We never merged our incomes and don't even pay taxes together. We each have debts. Most of my debt is from fixing up our house. Things like a new roof. She also has substantial debt. Alot of it is student loans. If we divorce can they hold me responsible for her debts? I've never taken care of any of her bills. I really don't even know whatshe has or owes.
