QDRO
      02/02/10 12:09 PM

I was divorced in Oct of 2006 in The state of Iowa. I was married for 19 yrs and in the divorce decree it states I am entitled to his IPERS (retirement) up to the day we divorced. Now since he hasn't retired yet I thought I would get my ducks in order. Only to find out that I need a QDRO in order to recieve his retirement. Now my question is: is there a time frame for this QDRO? And why didn't my attorney fill it out before the divorce was final? Do I still have a chance to recieve my share of his retirement?
