Wow, this is the exact question I asked myself 10 years ago and I decided to leave. The kids will never "adjust." Unless you can redeem your marriage, all they will see, feel and remember their whole childhood is your unhappiness. There is no whitewashing this. Is that the legacy you'd like to leave them? If you believe the relationship has run it's course, the best thing you can do for your children and yourself is to somehow find happiness.
