"First off, it the kids are of the same sex, they can share a room. I did as a child as do my two daughters."
Like Heaven said, that doesn't always work if the kids are far apart in age, like mine 4 and 11. Plus, the bedrooms in most apartments are TOO small to fit the furniture needed for two kids - two beds, two dressers, a desk for school work, toys, and bookcases.
"But, based on your numbers, at least in my state, CS would be more the the CP's entire income, meaning the CP would have made no financial contribution, AND possibly lived in a home larger than needed."
I was just trying to show OP how expenses for children can add up. I wasn't even finished listing all my expenses.
In addition to the above there is: Day care $560 a month School Lunches $40 a month Hair products $40 a month (yes, I spend that much on my kids hair because they have African-American hair)
So let's add it up: the extra bedrooms - $215 Food - $200 Daycare - $560 School lunches $40 Hair products $40
Total $1055 a month - not including the extras like birthday parties, christmas gifts, entertainment, clothes, shoes, coats, etc.
Half would be $527 which is about what my child support comes to. When I start getting it, that is.
