The ex isn't paying extra for it either--or hasn't for the last few years or so. He's remarried with kids so he has his own family policy. He's also doing the wrong thing by just using his insurance on the rare occasion her daughter gets sick while she's visiting him. She told him he could drop her daughter and she wouldn't even ask him to pay for any of the premium on the policy at her house, but he refused. Got offended and said she was trying to cut him out of his daughter's life even more. As you can guess, there's no good communication going on between them.
