elliesmom - you bring up some pertinent questions to think about. I have also heard this from the therapist I am working with. You are right when you say a person needs to know what he/she wants... I don't want to make a big mistake before I can really find an answer to these questions. I don't want to be in another relationship that "stops working" in another 10 years - especially if the reason was because I didn't know what I wanted in a spouse but we decided to marry anyways...
Debi - We are trying to both be positive throughout this discovery process but it is difficult. My wife told me this weekend that she doesn't feel like she is going to enjoy the holidays this year. I understand what she is telling me and I truly feel sad for her because she really does look forward to this time of year. I don't want her to feel that way... I really am trying to be understanding of her feelings of being in "limbo."
Our home is a very depressing place to be living in right now.
