I never suggested that she drain the accounts to keep him from them. But rather to put the money in escrow so he can't drain them and make the money disappear. Then they can both agree, through their lawyers, what monies they can spend and why? Like they each get lawyer's fees, etc...

That way, they have a [censored] accounting of the money. I'm especially leary of this when one spouse is leaving for an affair. They are only thinking of their own best interest, not their STBX's.

I took our cash and put it in my lawyers escrow before my ex could do anything stupid. We'd each agree what we could use it for. No one, not even me, could dip into it.
