Okay, now I am REALLY trying NOT be a smart ass here, but where do you think the blood on his hands CAME from? Do you think it squeezed out of his PORES? No, it would have been from CUTS on his HANDS, which WOULD NOT wash off. And, trust me, I know this from EXPERIENCE< when you hit something with your fist as solid as WOOD, your hands SWELL UP.

But according to YOUR story, when you got to the bottom of the stairs, they were FIGHTING with him. The where KNEEING HIM IN THE GROIN, wrestling with him, etc. Sorry, police do NOT wresle with a person, then stand there and have a conversation to see what happened. DOES NOT HAPPEN.

A DETECTIVE told you the solution to a person stalking you at your job was to QUIT YOUR JOB? If I had never BEEN to Virginia and known better, I would swear the state is population with MORONS.
