Googledad - second reply.. I read that "The new law gives greater guidance given the new combined income cap amount - $130,000. It's expected more parents will use the new law and seek to update child support due to the income limit change. " Is it your understanding that the new cap comes into place automatically as of 1/31/2010 (and so over-riding pre-existing Agreements, i.e Judge signed Stipulations of Settlement) or that the Custodial Parent must petition the Court to have the cap raised to the new $130,000 figure (or higher, as we agree, up to $300K)? The quote above appears to indicate that parents will need to ask the Court to raise the cap ("parents will...seek to update child support due to the income limit change."), but it's not clear to me. I've written my lawyer, but thought I'd also ask here. wombat53
