While Gregy is a little over the top I can't disagree with his basic thought. I have been trying since my divorce to get any kind of help BUT because I am a white, middle aged, HS diploma holding MALE... there is no one willing to help.

Most of the support forums and legal aid groups focus on providing help for the woman to divorce the male and collect monies. Not many discuss what to do if you are the male in the case.

It is assumed that we will sit there and take our punishment, deserved or not.

I am just as guilty, I was in such shock when it happened that I shut down and did not fight. I was slammed with a gag order at the one and only hearing we had and have been paying for it since. Never heard of a "default divorce" before that.

I show up for a recent support hearing and was told that I should "step up" and make payments that are 3 times my weekly income. That I should have "known" that I needed to file forms I never heard of before. That I should have been paying money to lawyers I can't afford to do tall this for me (including paying for her legal fees).
