You can hire an attorney over the phone if you want to. An attorney could make sure you at least get some temporary support. You'd once again have to amend your filing. But once HE gets an attorney - service is a breeze. You can serve his lawyer and he isn't trying to avoid you. I wouldn't say it looks bad - its just harder. A judge can't give you what you don't ask for, and if you don't know how to "ask" for things legally you might end up on the losing end. Start calling around for a free phone consult. After hearing your facts, they should quote you a retainer. You might ask about paying it in installments. Some take VISA/MC. You might be able to apply for a new card. It will be well worth it.

Call it what you want - but getting him kicked out of housing helps you how? So if it doesn't help you and you do it any way - I hate to break it to you but that is pretty much the DEFINITION of spite. You have about 30 minutes to make an impression on a judge that will determine alot of VERY important things for your future. If I were you - I would want to be the one sitting there who has done NOTHING to this man and him sitting there explaining why he hasn't paid a dime to support his kids. And then you can watch him get his a$$ handed to him.

Whether YOU could prove it or not - is irrelevant (and how you would prove they were giving him money for THAT I don't know because they surely know they need to keep this on the DL so I doubt they would fess up. Most likely it would be "gifts" or "Paying back money they borrowed to get more WoW money" or some ridiculous thing like that). The housing office is just not really going to look into it THAT hard. They will look into him having an illegal pet - because they can be sued for that. I have lived in base housing in various places and NONE of them had a crackerjack squad of investigators. Usually they ignored you.
