To be honest, it should be imputed to you for as long as the company with the higher paying job that you quit is in business.

If you want to lower your income, that is your choice. But the higher amount is what should be used when calculating child support.

Your ex isn't going to get a refund for all the years he MAY have been overpaying. He chose not to pursue your financial information. Just like you chose not to pursue his. If his inaction caused him to overpay, that is on him.

The most he can get is back to the filing date. Some courts will not go back to filing date, regardless if there is an increase or a decrease, but go from the date of the actual hearing on. Which is more fair to both parties when an existing child support order is already in place. One shouldn't have to do with less support or have to pay automatic arrears because the court system is slow.
