Miranda...
Right now, we've been married for 11 years/8 months. The entire time he was in the military.
In the response letter that was sent to me by his atty, my stbx is asking ME to pay child support, pay his atty fees & 'debts that were acquired during marriage subject to equitable division, w/due regard for who, when & why said debt was incurred'.
In the papers, it states that sbtx will allege other grounds for divorce if it should become necessary. Wow...really? I have a question...why would that become necessary...I mean he's already playing dirty like an @sshole would. I still think he should be respecting me as the mother of his children & can't imagine why he's treating me this way. He is attempting to get out of paying child support and asking me to pay child support...seriously what planet is he on? Wouldn't him doing this make him look like a total @sshat?
Please read this statement as I'm going to type it identical to what it is in the papers: 'Defendant will hereinafter pray that Plaintiff will provide temporary and permanent support for the said minor children, pursuant to a parent's legal obligation to provide the same'. <Isn't this stating that neither one of us would pay child support because it would even out? I'm just trying to understand this statement.>
The statement that we have 'substantial tangible property which was acquired during the marriage is subject to equitable division' is ridiculous because we do not have our name on anything together anymore...the debt consolodation is paid off and he just traded in the car that had both our names on it. There is nothing else to split and I did not take anything from the house that would need to be split. The more I go over these papers, the more ridiculous it is.
Get ready for this!!!! Here is the most unbelievable statement in the entire paperwork: 'WHEREFORE, Defendant prays that Plaintiff's Complaint be dismissed, and that all relief requested therein be denied'. Basically he is stating that the child support, alimony and division of his retirement pay(which I am entitled to & will get)be denied. He is asking to pay absolutely nothing! Can you believe this? What kind of father does this?
