Doesn't matter if you buy it or not. Housing IS a legitimate expense for kids. And in situations where it is 50/50 physical, you do have a point, both households would be incurring housing costs for the kids. But in situations where it isn't, the CP is going to have the higher housing cost. And less able to find a smaller, more affordable place to live.
I still firmly believe that child support should be paid to the lower earning parent, even in a 50/50 physical scenario. Just not as high as if it was less than 50/50. The lifestyle difference shouldn't be that drastic between the two households.
