You are right in every case the circumstances differ! I understand what an ex can do to credit and savings. I was left with no house, no car, no money! So all of these things your are saying are understandable. However; what some of these others are posting is correct too. It does seem like you are trying to justify knowing you have been overpaid. I wouldn't just take the NCP word for it. I would maybe have a lawyer look into the matter, but if he did over pay you don't you think it would be ethical to give it back or maybe cut back on the child support tell the amount is made up? You say all these things he has done too you which I don't doubt, but it does not mean you have to be the same kind of person..I believe if he really overpaid even if it was a stupid accident then you should do what is right even if you state claims it's a "gift". As far as the house and such I would think that during your divorce that could have been settled, such as selling it, or him buying it from you. YOu don't have to stay in the house, sometimes it's better to walk away. Especially with a home that cost that much.
