My wife is trying to pull the same stunt with me. She not only wants 3,000.00 per month alimony but an additional $750.00 per month from an inheritance which she is not even entitled to have. I only make $30,000.00 per year from my job and pay child support.
If you have no money, there is nothing to give in child support. It would be in your best interest to no work and keep going to school until the divorce is final. Also, I might recommend finding a place of your own. You may be able to find housing assistance for students. I moved in with my ex-wife's aunt and uncle, and although it was good, having my own place has helped me come a long way.
