I am in the thick of finding out my husband has been having an affair behind my back for almost a year. I am not sure if I can offer the best advice at this point, but I think the hardest thing for me to do was to reach out and ask for help. As a military spouse, you can call the counseling services on MilitaryOneSource and they will help stear you in the direction of some help at no cost to you. It felt like I was given a light in a very dark storm. Things are not perfect. Things are still hard. I still am not sure what the future holds, but I know my marriage is over and I filed for divorce. For the first time, I am really glad I reached out. This is not about you. It is about him; which still hurts beyond words, believe me I know. You can't go back; stop trying to ask the questions about what you could have done. You can't see the future; stop wondering about what tomorrow is going to bring. Today is what you have....make it count for you. A very good friend of mine reminds me all of the time that the best revenge is living a happiness and fullfillment. When it gets dark now, force yourself to smile....it is hard sometimes, but force yourself to do it. It is amazing what that can do to a not so good moment. You are not alone. You deserve better. You deserve to be loved for who YOU are and what YOU are.
