Hi,
I know exactly what you are going through. I am in the same boat. We were married about 8 years. My husband also in the Army, filed for divorce in April 2011 without any warning. The divorce is in process. I assume he wants to secure his retirement because we are coming up on the 10-year-mark. We are in a very remote area where there are no jobs so this makes things worse. I have no job, no family and no friends here in the U.S.! I gave up everything for a "man" like that.
Just to give you some advice: Be careful when you talk to his commander and even Family Advocacy. They will show no support toward you. Remember that! They are pro Soldier and you no longer matter to them! Anything you say to them will be used to support the soldier. The only people I recommend you can trust is the Chaplin and the MFLC. Other than that, you are on your own! You need to come up with a way to find enough money for a good attorney!
This is going to be a long road but you will get through this!
Good Luck
