CS is not income. It is to be used to provide and care for the child while in your home...CS is also seperate from a custody order.... In SC, child support can be waived, etc. so, she does not have to change custody in order to stop cs payments. She goes to county square, fills out forms and awaits an appoinment.... All she has to do is show the child is not in your physical custody. Also, be forewarned that legal and physical custody in sc can be changed. Meaning you could have legal custody, but physcial could reside with her....not the norm, but it happens.....what this means is that legally, you make decisions for child, but child resides with mom..... SC is screwed up on this. But at 17, it will be hard to stop change of custody if she decides to go after it.... I know this isn't what you want to hear....BTW,.I am a GAL for the state. That was the reason someone contacted me when they saw your post.
On another note.....saw you had some excitement your way this afternoon.. was going down WH road to SD road when I saw Ll the police near DMV. Understand subject was shot and killed....
