I didn't mean that I choice to do it all, from the beginning. I am choosing to do it most of it NOW. I meant I knew coming in that I was responsible for my kids 100%. Just as the other parent should be responsible 100% or why have kids? (I cannot get into someone else's head though or why they choose as they do?) So you have TWO parents giving their all. Doesn't necessarily work the way you suspected it would. I said I knew I would be the PRIMARY parent of the children- the one taking them to doctor appointments, conferences, etc. just as SRS said the past she even did those things while married, but this was NOT the life I chose/envisioned. Sometimes it doesn't work out the way we envisioned it. So you misunderstood or I didn't express my viewpoint completely. I am also not one to badmouth one parent's shortcomings because I know my kids' Dad loves his kids, no doubt at all.

I have "been there" in regards to what SRS posted, which Tweeby responded off of, that I commented on...being up all night taking care of a sick kid and then going to work dead tired. That was where my comment originated from. My situation, yes entirely different, and NO I am not a single parent- but in some of those respects I.GET.IT.

My biggest issue, the double standard that I see, is that since I am not a single parent I don't get it so I shouldn't respond. That is not going to stop me from responding. I find no issue with my original response, it's just when people like RJ complain about how I responded by responding in the SAME way she complained I did- that is where I lost her viewpoint (yes confusing, I know). SRS vented, Tweeby commented, I commented and vented- then I was told I am a "high income stepmom" who didn't get it. I mean isn't that doing the same thing she complained I was doing?

Nonetheless, my intention was not to take away from SRS's vent- I have no problem with her vents. I can see that she is struggling internally with wanting her Dads' kids in their lives while she has no choice but to step up and be their FT parent, he chooses not to (I believe that a working parent can still be a FT parent). <---- THAT, is exactly how some feel in an intact household. Really the main similarity I was trying to make, albeit not very well.
