I think that the biggest challenge you're going to have with getting SS is the fact that you've lived the last ?yrs without her support. It may not have been easy, but you did it without her. Since you've not stated your circumstances have changed, nor any reason you aren't *capable* of working, you're basically two strangers tied together with a piece of paper. 15yrs or not, the judge is likely going to ask WHY you suddenly want support you've never had access to before.

I'm not saying you don't have a reason, but just based on what you've posted, your only reason appears to be that she's finally serious about cutting ties. You'll need more to convince a judge given the circumstances.
