There is a law in Colorado that requires temporary (until divorce is final) maintenance of 40% of her gross income once divorce is filed. That would be half her net income going to you.

I think alimony is a sham for lazy useless people (like you?), and have been on the wrong side of that law.

As far as post-divorce alimony, the law does not have a specific amount. My lawyer advised me 1/4 to 1/3 marriage is common duration. I negotiated 1/8th duration. Court in Weld county.
