Well, I pay % of my net income and if I get laid off, the dollar amount I pay won't be reduced. Why? If we were still married, the kids would have to make do with less, but if you are an NCP, the courts don't see where the support should be reduced. That is rediculous.
In the end, the kids suffer when the NCP doesn't help support them and they equally suffer when the CP uses the money for selfish reasons. It would be a nice change if the courts held the NCP responsible for payment and the CP's accountable for where the money goes. It is called Child Support not Child Supporting the CP!
