Then why did he marry her? Simple question. You don't need to be angry with me for assuming--you need to be asking yourself those questions. You are the one who said he married her because he thought he had cancer. As I stated in the first post, the issue of adultery will not likely have any effect unless she can prove he has dissipated any of her assets or any community assets. Even if they kept their money separate, in a community property state the earnings of each is community property unless they had a pre-nuptual agreement stating otherwise. Any income derived from assets falls under community also.

You might keep in mind that when you state that someone leaves their wife of only 3 months to move in with you that people are likely to assume something negative. You didn't ruffle my feathers--this isn't about me.

And the part about how he only left because she was mean. So, even though you say he loved you and she knew he loved you he only left because she became mean? This story would be a hard sell--I can only go by what you write on here. If she is "old" as you put it, that really doesn't help his case either if he is young. Think about what that looks like to outside parties. A lot of what will happen depends on her lawyers and the judges you get. If there is no pre-nup in court almost anything can happen. The fact that she became mean but he left and went to you still doesn't paint a pretty picture. It may look to the court like a young man tried to take advantage of an older, vulnerable woman. That is why I said he needs to get this over with. She can't stop him from divorcing her. And if she is a millionaire I can't see how he would be ordered to pay her alimony, so I am not sure how you think this is going to affect too much. The only thing it could affect is the division of assets that accrued during the short term marriage. Simply depositing money you earned into a separate account doesn't make it separate property in a community property state.
