Yes, using our income. He gets about 5K per year in scholarships...give or take a little, and 24 or 25K per year from FAFSA...he's got a free ride. He has to keep his honors grades up, which is never a problem for him, even with a part time job at Sears. He brings home another $600 per month from his job (he got his job in August, so that hasn't been factored into any applications yet).
SS18 would have gotten alore more help if he had used our info, I think. I'm just not sure what's going on with him. He won't talk to us, and Bm won't either....so we are getting it from SD16, and she didn't know anything really except what I already said. I heard he was coming home tonight or tomorrow for the weekend (I hope it's just for the weekend). He's supposed to be at his best friends going away part on Saturday (he's joined the Navy).
I told DH, in front of SD a few months ago (and she didn't like hearing this), that the best decision SS20 made was moving in with us his senior year. He'd probably be in the same, or similar, situation as SS18 if he had lived with his mom. I'm very proud of SS20...he's come a long way.
