15 years it is for me also.
Early January of 1997 was when my STBX-wife told me the reconciliation we attempted for three years wasn't working and she definitely wanted out.

We squabbled a bit about who was leaving and eventually she did, in November of that year. She never looked back and while it took over a year for the mediated D to become final, the year 1997 is the one with the blackest mark in my personal history.

I guess I "healed" after a year or two and found another nice GF that I'm still going with, but it's not the same.
My memory is too good, including my prospective memory of what COULD have been. Our two kids will be 27 and 30 this year. The D blew the hell out of their teenage years, as you might expect.
I'll stop now and try to focus on football later today. But the point is that it never goes away when kids are involved...
