Well, I'm thinking he's been employed there since 2006, he has been with the company for 5 years and they want to make sure he's been married all of those years.

Yes, there really are people who will do all they can to get someone else to foot the bill. I'd guess they have found at least one person who was getting insurance as a dependant who shouldn't have been and now everyone else is paying for it.

I had to provide birth certificates for each of my children when i started my current job in 2008. (First time I ever had to do that) As if I'd want to pay to cover people I didn't have to! Just like JJ's employer mine charges a premium to cover a spouse that could have insurance elsewhere. I'm waiting for the day they ask for a CO proving that I am ordered to provide coverage for my kids so that they can no longer be insured under both my insurance and their fathers.
