I'm in the process of getting a divorce after 23 years of marriage. As a woman in her mid 40s I am shocked to hear that I can't have a roommate without losing my alimony. Living alone is not only costly but scary.

So let me get this straight. I cooked and cleaned and raised our kids while he got all of his degrees, cheated on me for years before I found out and he gets to live with his current girlfriend if he wants but if I get a female roommate, I lose my alimony?
