Her student loans are hers. Period.

Frankly I would be pissed off, not sad, at someone who wanted me to take on half of their share of debt AND pay them my hard earned money. Unless you owed her somehow - she took a lower paying job to move for your career, etc. I would be hard pressed to agree to pay an able-bodied person alimony in this situation. You are both educated, employed, and working well above the poverty line. The most I would agree to is take 100% of the debt except her student loans. At least that way she can't trash your credit by not paying anything attached to you on time (creditors don't care what your divorce decree says).
