Funny story...

Son's health teacher was talking about foods.. and being overweight.... he had to contain his laughter.. .since SHE is huge.... He said he would do a better job in teaching the class and he's only 13. And a slim 160 pounds at 6.1.... (thank god he has his dad's genes) who at 44 is HOT in his 32x34 jeans.... He's 6.2 and weighs maybe 190 lbs... those years of cycling continue to pay off.....

But anyway.... the point is.. educators can be as much of an idiot as parents... Educators are not the end all, be all... and neither are the Docs... I've seen plenty of overweight Docs smoking and drinking Mt. Dews... Always amuses me.. hell my cholesterol is better than my docs and I don't take any medication... my blood pressure is a calm 90/62

I was blessed with two active kids who pretty much eat only healthy things... It's been 9 years since we've ever stopped in a MacD's..... Their afternoon snack consists of apples with peanut butter or carrot sticks... they love Kefir shakes with fresh fruit and trivia.... I think their most favorite is Gouda cheese and apple slices though... they LOVE Gouda.. My son however still drinks Whole milk... I will not buy him low fat or no fat due to the high sugar content... He goes through 3 gallons a week... He either drinks milk or water.. no soda's in the house... He also practices 3 hours everyday for basketball for HS (he will play JV next year in 8th grade) and AAU... I think I am better at nutrition then most "educators"....
I don't smoke, I watch what I eat... and I work out 3/4 days a week... I drink occasionally (actually havent' had a drink of alcohol since Dec 31 now that I think about it).... My kid also does not EAT school lunch.... I pack their lunch...

If they want potato chips... I make them from new potato or sweet potatos... I make my own pita chips... and we only eat organic...
