Of course, I was completely respectful, did not deride anyone's beliefs, just suggested a different path to the ultimate goal...and I am painted as the bad guy.

REALLY? It is crazy hypocritical of you to suggest that we are beating the Bible into people and that they will make great atheists because of us.

Regardless, I have two children- one who accepted Christ most recently and one who has NOT because it does not feel right to her. She believes in God, but she is still researching and finding her own way. The woman she spoke to- all the kids in her Youth Group- have not made her feel bad about it. They told her she needs to take her time, that God is a gentleman and would not want her to rush into accepting him until she is absolutely ready.

You stated you have worked with "at risk" kids. I decided to do this because I want these kids to know that I CARE about THEM. They are NOT just a number to me. I went through the hours and hours of training and I feel like I am doing right by having time with these boys. I am in a max security prison- most there for rape, violent assaults and drug activity- some are there for murder. I just want them to know there is LIFE outside the cell, that the dreams they have- many of them wanting to finish school and go on to college are ACHIEVABLE. After the service I asked them if they had any questions about the message or anything they wanted to know better about God or the Bible. One suggested we have a Bible study so he can understand the scriptures, the others said no...so we talked about life after jail. We are also setting up Life Skills classes to help them with parenting skills, etc. I am learning too. I am not perfect, lucky they haven't expected me to be.
