Change is difficult for those with Aspergers.....and on the continuum. Limiting his time in his father's home is not going to make it more familiar to him.
Sometimes dealing with the ramifications of not dealing with the treatment plan convince someone who is denying the dx or the tx plan that they might want to get with the plan.
Visiting them in another state is not the same as involving them in his home and family life.
The direct answer to your question is if they have been in CO for 2 years, you should be able to file there.
Maybe your mind is made up, but I still think it's reasonable to listen to other opinions.
Staying with dad may cause some distress.....so does sending an uncooperative kid to the dentist, but it should still be done. Thinking about the long term consequences is important.
