Here's an odd question

I've not heard from ex for quite some time now. Neither has either child. They're both over 18 and there's no specific requirement that we need to hear from him. However, our last emails have gone unanswered.

Ex lives with a girlfriend who despises me and the children and has gone as far as to make sure that none of us are even allowed to know ex's telephone number. Any contact we have can only come from him. She intercepts everything except email and keeps him isolated as much as possible. Trouble is, ex has a medical condition.

The last time ex's medical condition had him admitted to the hospital for some time we were not informed and we're well aware this could happen again.

There's little other family of ex's left so no notification would come that way either. There's been little contact there anyway because it would make problems for ex with the girlfriend.

I'm sure that by now the girlfriend has managed to get ex to change his will to leave everything to her and nothing to the kids so if he died, a will wouldn't require we be informed. She has his power of attorney on everything. Also, the girlfriend is unlikely to want the kids at his funeral. It would be a small affair of just her and maybe one brother who wouldn't know we hadn't been told.

Although the brother was finally made aware of a previous incident where the kids were not told when their grandfather died (girlfriend wouldn't allow notification), it was just too hard for him to believe!

Neither child is worried yet because they're used to a lack of contact from their father. Oh, to be young! However, I'm beginning to worry about him.

Any ideas of any way we might be contacted if anything bad happened to him that would be beyond the girfriend? Of course, I'm hoping I'm worrying in vain and he's fine!
